Talitha Update! :)

Well, Talitha has been improving more and more each day! She now lets me touch her everywhere, lead her, and catch her (without grain). I am so thankful to the Lord for giving me such a great cow! Also today I felt her calf move for the first time! SO EXCITING!!!

Milk anyone?
Just kidding! Not yet. :) Only one day and 3 months to go now!

Spring!!!!
Our magnolia tree is budding!

My goofy 'little' girl, can you see the calf?

Out for lunch with Talitha! :)

She loved the grass!

:)

Watson's Ouchies, Opal, and Chickens

Opal, watching me work in the barn. :) It is nice to have company.

Uho... Watson was attacked by something and one of the puncture wounds got infected, so I cleaned it up. Poor fella hated it!

We think Opal might have been involved...

But she wasn't sayin' anything.

We let our chickens into the pasture to scratch around and they are doing a great job!

Eggs, eggs, and more eggs!
Right now we are getting about 10-15 eggs a day! WAY to much for our family!

Thirsty chickens!
We have 15 Buff Orpington hens, 4 mix breed hens, and one mixed breed rooster. He is a very nice rooster of which I am thankful!!

Homemade Bread and Marmalade Teabread

Baking! One of my favorite pass times. :) It relaxes me and keeps the family fed.
If you would like to have the recipes from this post, just leave a comment below and I'll get it to you. I'm just too lazy today to write them out...

I don't know about you, but bread is one of my favorite things to make.

Kneading

The finished product

There is almost nothing that can beat fresh HOT bread with butter and jam, or honey!

-Marmalade Teabread-
My Aunt wanted me to try some English recipes for her, so this was my first one to make.

Flour, cinnamon, and soda

Butter

Crumble, crumble

Brown sugar

No offense... I just had to use Irish marmalade... he he! :)

Marmalade does not mix nicely with eggs and milk

I had about a tablespoon of butter left over so I just plopped it on top.

All done! It was yummy!!

Salted Caramel

Salted caramel anyone?
Here is the recipe,

White Sugar and Salt

It's just amazing to see sugar melt!

Butter

Yummy caramel! It is some of the best caramel I have ever had. :) I did not have cream so I just used milk. That is why it's darker.

Hot bread pudding anyone?

Unleavened Bread and More Cheese :)

During my Daniel fast I almost lived on this bread. :) It is rubbery when cool, but yummy!

Recipe

The dough is stiff

I made round ones

Poke them with a fork

All done! They are quick and easy to make!

A bite anyone?

I also made cheese. It turned out good! Okay, one did better than the other because it was not so dry.

My cheese press! :) He he!

Salted

Spiced

Here is a little clip of me pouring out the cheese into a sock. :)

Well, this is a very short post, but I'll try to post some more interesting stuff later. Have a wonderful day!
