Where does the milk come from?

The first three pictures are of Talitha's bag before we milk...

And now after we milk. :)

We got 14.2lb of milk (that includes the bucket weight)

Yum Yum!

Cheese, chicks...

Emmie and I canned around 31 quarts of pizza sauce! It was hard work but to see all those jars lined up is very satisfying.

Milking bucket
We have been putting an ice pack in the bucket so that it cools the milk down quickly. We got that idea from the Pratts. :)

I got some rennet to make cheese. We just did a test run because we wanted to see it work. He he!

Heating the milk to 90 degrees.

Cutting the curds. :)

It worked!

Emmie made a really really yummy pork roast!

Now for the oven!

Talitha

We will be getting some layer chicks next week so we were getting the coop ready for them.

Dust pile

Talitha thinks that when we show up at the barn she needs to get into the stanchion. :) :)

Mommy got me a really nice trash can for sweet feed. :) THANK YOU, MOMMY!

I made some granola....

God at work in my life...

The Lord has been doing a lot of work in my heart lately. It's so amazing the way He waits for us to yield. Why should He? Because He loves us too much to let us go. Praise His Name!

This devotional blessed me...

September 15th
"Rest in Me, My child. This time devoted to Me is meant to be peaceful, not stressful. You don't have to perform in order to receive My Love. I have boundless, unconditional Love for you. How is grieves Me to see My children working for Love: trying harder and harder, yet never feeling good enough to be loved.
"Be careful that your devotion to Me does not become another form of works. I want you to come into My Presence joyfully and confidently. You have nothing to fear, for you wear My own righteousness. Gaze into My eyes, and you will see no condemnation, only Love and delight in the one I see. Be blessed as My Face shines radiantly upon you, giving you Peace."
-Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

'You don't have to perform in order to receive My Love.' That phrase really struck me! I so often try to do things because I think if I don't He will love me less or will be angry with me and He'll punish me.  But the truth is, if we are walking The Way that we truly believe that God wants us to, then we have nothing to fear! And if He does show us that we have walked off of The Way, it is because He loves us. We don't have to fear that He'll leave us walking the wrong direction! What a blessing!

Blessings to all!

Pizza Sauce!

Sam and I made pizza sauce together. It was time consuming but we got it done!

Onions, need I say any more?

What a mess!!

Sam scooped all the tomato paste out of the cans.

Spices!

Oh what a mess!

Sam put goggles on to keep his eyes from getting affected by the onions. But he said it felt like he had a whole onion in his throat! :) :)

Because of Daddy being in the hospital Emmie decided to get some yummy stuff! :)

Martin's gave us some iced coffee concentrate! It was really good!!
THANK YOU, MARTIN FAMILY!

Joseph was over at our house for a bit and Josh put him in Sam's boots. He did not like it! He was fake crying, but did really want out of the boots. :) :)

Emmie made some coffee cake. It was yummy!

I was messing around with the camera settings. :)

Thanks for taking a little trip down the Grice Life Lane! :)

Milking :)

This was the last day with Buster.  :( :(
We sold him to a very good home on the first of this month (not quite sure on that date) where he will be a pet for the rest of his life. Wow! Couldn't ask for better! God is so good!

Smile!!

Talitha waiting to be milked

Sam and I straining the milk. :)

This strainer is sooooo nice!! I got it here Homesteader's Supply

Cream

Getting all that good cream off

Now for some butter!

Blender

I like to blend it until I can squish it with my finger and it doesn't stick to me.

Looking good!

If you don't blend it enough it will stick to you badly. :)

Hardly any sticking!!

Yum, yum!

First we wash everything with soap and then rinse it. Then we bleach and rinse everything again. Doing this twice a day can get tiring. :)

But then we get all the milk we want!! :)

I do want to put in a little note saying how much of a blessing Sam has been! He faithfully comes out with me twice a day at seven in the morning and evening, rain or shine. I have a really, really sweet brother!! Thank You, Jesus, for my little brother!
