Pins Dropping??? My guessed due date is coming fast!! Hurry up Talitha!

Looks like I too might have to change my guess!! At least I know she has a calf, because I have seen it move. :)
Maybe I should guess September??? Hehe!
I hope I am not bothering anyone posting pictures of my cow. I want to keep a photo journal of any changes during her pregnancy. Also I wanted other people to be able to compare her with their cows. :)

Blessings to each!

Quick, easy, no oven needed, lunch

I am not sure if I mentioned it but our oven's bottom heating element went out a while ago so I have been trying to think of foods I can make without the oven. We can still use broil... :) Just this morning I made some cookies using broil. :) :) It worked pretty good! Anyway, I was trying to think of something to make the boys for lunch and this is what I came up with. It is based off of bannock.

Abi's Homemade Pan Biscuits
1/2 cup white flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cups (maybe more) Water

Get everything needed out...

Put it all the dry ingredients in a bowl...

Add water till it is like really thick cake batter. Well I guess like brownie batter. :)

Put a heaping tablespoon of butter in a hot pan...

Now just spread that yumminess on the pan...

Flip when you see bubbles on the top.

Two cans of beans

Syrup and brown sugar

Heat well

Pour the hot beans over and hot biscuits.

Enjoy!!

Josh does not like to eat beans so I made him some white gravy to put over the top.

Eat up boys!!

Comparison pictures :)

Talitha

Any change???

This and that...

The Garden...

Peppers are growing good!

Green beans

A volunteer tomato that is growing tomatoes! :) It is a very healthy plant!

The garden is growing and growing! :)

Her head looks so little in this picture! :) She is pretty fat though...

The line right along her tail head is called a "pin".  They are starting to show more, maybe... When the pins are really pronounced then it means calving is very soon. But because she is so fat it will be harder to see them. :) I am not sure how she keeps all that weight on. She doesn't get much grain. Oh well!

Ready for milking!!

Canning Green Beans!

It's July! And that means green beans! KK, Sam, and I picked them, then Mom, Emmie, KK, Sam, and I all snapped them! I was working with green beans for 13 hours. :) Not all the time though. Pressure canning them takes a long time! I started picking at nice thirty or so and kept working till bed time! I am so glad that the others helped... or I might still be working on them!

Sam wanted to use a knife. He said it saved his fingers. :P

Canning!

I did a cold pack this year because last year we did a hot pack and they fell apart when you took them out of the jar. I hope this will help with that.

They are so green!

Mommy washing the green beans. She is an amazing Mom. I think I have the best Mom ever! Hands down!

All done! I think there were 14 quarts. :)
