Today we were headed to Quin Abbey (again), Clonmacnoise in Offaly, and Strokestown Park in Roscommon.

This place has the best apple pie I have tasted in a LONG time! Highly recommend eating there!

This family loved to hunt. When they would get a deer or elk they would bring it into the house and set it on this table and the servants would butcher it.
Maybe that is why they had red carpet? :P
While fighting with the Americans Edward was killed. There is a story told that he was sent home in a barrel of rum, but before his body arrived in Ireland the sailors got thirsty. So they cracked open a barrel of rum. They drank and partied away until they started to feel sick, so they looked in the barrel and lo and behold, there was poor Edward... :O I wonder if they ever drank again.
