Little Buddy and Talitha + Gardening

Here are some comparison pictures of Buddy from about two months ago when I got him and now...

Buddy at about two weeks old...

Buddy now...

Buddy at two months old (this was just after he got shots... so he was a little upset because he had to be separated some Talitha for about two hours)
Me thinks he will be a monster soon...

Yes, Buddy, I can see you.

He is eating grass now...

Sam and I picked all the carrots and beets.

Sam is such a big help!

A box of carrots

Sam and I cut off the tops and the bottoms

Hummm... where did all the carrots go?

Ah here's where they went! They seem to be mostly made up of tops. :)

Sam and I also dug up a row of potatoes (we got 24#) and then washed and cooked some for supper. They were very yummy!

Yesterday evening I went outside to take pictures of Talitha and Buddy.
I usually have a following of either cats, dogs, or a person. :)
This time I had Sam, Watson, and Opal

Fun pictures of KK and Nathan and Virginia's Wedding

Seeing these pictures of KK makes me think of this song...

"She climbs a tree and scrapes her knee
Her dress has got a tear
She waltzes on her way to Mass
And whistles on the stair
And underneath her wimple
She has curlers in her hair
I even heard her singing in the abbey

"She's always late for chapel
But her penitence is real
She's always late for everything
Except for every meal
I hate to have to say it
But I very firmly feel
Maria's not an asset to the abbey

"I'd like too say a word in her behalf
Maria... makes me... laugh

"How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertigibbet! A will-o'-the wisp! A clown!

"Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sand?

"Oh How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?

"When I'm with her I'm confused
Out of focus and bemused
And I never know exactly where I am
Unpredictable as weather
She's as flighty as a feather
She's a darling! She's a demon! She's a lamb!

"She'd out pester any pest
Drive a hornet from its nest
She could throw a whirling dervish out of whirl
She is gentle! She is wild!
She's a riddle! She's a child!
She's a headache! She's an angel!
She's a girl!

"How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertigibbet! A will-o'-the wisp! A clown!

"Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay
And listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sand?

"Oh How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?"

Morning and evening walks with Mom and Emmie can be such a relaxing time!

My brother just got married to a very sweet girl, Virginia Rudolph, on July 9th.

This is the reception building.

The kitchen

The happy couple!

All filled up!

Sneaking a kiss... not really. :) :)

Long 'Joy List'

My 'Joy List' :)

Sam was helping me hill some potatoes with hay and guess what we found in the old wet hay?

HUGE grubs!!

This chickens got a lovely snack... :)

Beets and Carrots

It was so hot out, but Sam and I got the jobs done

Sam also helped me clean out the barn. He was cleaning a feed room and kept finding mice!

Some pureed beets, that I later froze.

Look at that color!

The carrots were cooked and then frozen.

I made some beet muffins

And I made some beet bread

They were all pretty good, but did have a 'beet' flavor

Joseph Neel's 2nd Birthday

Kelsey (Joseph's Mom) made this cake. Isn't it amazing?

Singing happy birthday...

He tried to blow out the candles, but he ended up having to have Katelyn help him blow them out.
