Spring is Here!

Good morning all! Guess what? Spring is finally here! So I thought I'd share some pictures of what spring looks like in Iowa. :)

It means stacking the manure pile up

Chicks!

And more chicks

And more chicks!!!

A bumble bee enjoying the creeping charlie. :)

Matthias (a young man from our Church) tilled my gardens! They look so nice! Now I am itching to get them planted!

Mom and I spread mulch around these bushes so KK doesn't have to weed whack around them. :)

Our magnolia tree is blooming

Crab apple tree blooms

Pear tree

Emmie and Mom's flower beds. :)

Tulip

Violets

Opal was following me around like she usually does. :) I love her so much! <3

A touch of spring inside...

Amaryllis flowers

Tomato and pepper plants

Meet my NEW cow!

Daddy and I drove up to the very edge of Iowa and then into Minnesota and South Dakota looking for a cow the I would like.

Getting gas and breakfast

I was Daddy's navigator. :)

We saw some windmill parts

No, this was not for Daddy. It was for me. Dad told the girl that was making it that I liked LOTS of whipped cream. She put LOTS of whipped cream on it!!

After going to a dairy and looking at their cows we decided to go look at a cow that was in South Dakota. She was perfect! So I put a down payment on her and am going to go get her either this or next week.

Did I really get a cow??? Her name is Sandy. :)

I also ordered a bunch of milking supplies. :)

They had all this crammed into that box! Yikes!

Rock Cut

We went to the rock cut with one of the Church families and some of my cousins

A bever made a dam here. It is so pretty!

I think he'll be working on these or a while...

:)

The rock was very flooded. But we were still able to wander around on it. :)

From the sand bar

Further down river (see the people on the sand bar?)

A big bird foot print!

Afterwards the family from our Church invited us over. We had ice-cream, dessert bars, fruit, and popcorn. It was fun! :)

My animals

My broilers are getting so big!

The little hens are doing really good!

Gus

Look at those hens! They are so so nice! They are laying around 6 eggs a day. And there are only nine hens!

I love my 'rainbow' eggs

Bodie gets a feed mix that has sweet feed, two kinds of creep feed, and sunflower seeds. :)
By the way, I HIGHLY recommend feeding your chickens or cattle sunflower seeds! My chickens especially, are looking super good!

Lots of pine shavings for the chicks :)

I am so glad Mommy got me a cart! It has saved my back and legs many times!

I am keeping 49 broilers for a family at Church, because they aren't quite ready to have them at their house yet. :) I'm glad I can do it for them. I LOVE having lots of animals to care for!

I moved my broilers out into the barn

Their feed

They seem to be doing good. :)

Gus was standing in there because he was VERY annoyed by the flies and hot!

Look at that sweet face... How can I even think of eating him?

Gus was 'helping' me take care of the broilers :)

Sweetness

Look at this little girl! Isn't she SO cute??

Pile on!

These two came home with us from Church, so their mommy and daddy could rest. :)

One of the people we clean for paid us with a quarters!
